Structured recordkeeping

A private investment spreadsheet alternative

A spreadsheet stores rows. A clarity ledger also preserves meaning: sources, unknowns, freshness, contradictions, and change history.

Where spreadsheets become fragile

Columns drift, formulas silently exclude blanks, dates lose context, and a new value overwrites the old one. Sharing a workbook can also expose names, exact amounts, and notes that were never intended for another person.

What a structured ledger adds

Versioned import/export, field-level provenance, deterministic freshness rules, immutable prior snapshots, explicit unknowns, neutral completeness scoring, privacy-default redacted summaries, and comparable dimensions across positions. A spreadsheet may still be useful for custom analysis; the ledger acts as the durable memory layer.
